The Mission of the Association is to promote and foster a spirit of friendliness and good fellowship among the Police Officers and family members of Police Departments in St. Louis and its surrounding areas. The Association will also aid Police Officers in the St. Louis area hurt in the line of duty or Police Officers or their family members in personal crisis or need.
Welcome!
The St. Louis Police Wives and Family Association (SLPWA) is a not for profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization, fully funded through donations and Association fundraising events. Currently, our Association is composed of over 50 wives, mothers, in-laws, sisters, girlfriends, fiancées, and widows of active and retired St. Louis area Police Officers, who as a group, have bonded together in friendship and family to assist injured officers, as well as police families, in times of need and family crisis.
We were originally formed as The St. Louis Police Wives in 1957 to help police wives lead their own organization. By the mid 1970’s, the Association had grown to more than 250 members. During this time, the Association held fundraisers, hosted the annual Policeman’s Ball, and assisted in securing benefits for police widows. The Association has long responded to crises involving Police Officers and their families.
Today, we are The St. Louis Police Wives & Family Association. Same great mission with a name that better reflects our membership and focus. We are glad you are here!
